Madison Iseman has joined the upcoming Rainmaker series in a key role. The Lionsgate and Blumhouse production, created by writer and executive producer Michael Seitzman, follows fresh law school graduate Rudy Baylor as he takes on seasoned courtroom veteran Leo Drummond while unraveling two interconnected conspiracies tied to a mysterious death.

Iseman will portray Sarah Plankmore, a recent law school graduate and Rudy’s girlfriend. The role of Rudy has yet to be cast.

Based on John Grisham’s novel, The Rainmaker was previously adapted into a 1997 film directed by Francis Ford Coppola and starring Matt Damon, Claire Danes, Jon Voight, and Danny DeVito. The TV adaptation, ordered by NBCUniversal’s USA Network in June, has been in development for six years. Seitzman and Jason Richman penned the pilot, with both serving as executive producers alongside Grisham, Jason Blum, and David Gernert.

The series aligns with USA Network’s efforts to revive its signature “Blue Sky” programming era, which previously included legal dramas like Suits and Fairly Legal. The show’s budget reportedly falls within the $2M-$3M per-episode range, leaning toward the higher end.

Iseman’s past TV credits include I Know What You Did Last Summer (Prime Video) and American Horror Stories (FX). On the film side, she is set to appear in Chuck Russell’s Witchboard and has previously starred in the Jumanji franchise, Annabelle Comes Home, Fear of Rain, and Knights of the Zodiac.

She is represented by IAG, Principal Entertainment LA, and Yorn Levine.
